Chimney / Stake

Chimney fabrication is the process of designing, cutting, shaping, and assembling materials (typically steel) to create chimney components. These components are later erected on-site to form an industrial chimney that channels flue gases safely.

Chimney erection refers to assembling and installing the fabricated chimney components on-site. This involves lifting, aligning, and joining sections using cranes, bolts, and welding, ensuring the chimney is structurally sound.

Insulation prevents heat loss, protects the structure from extreme temperature changes, and controls condensation within the chimney, improving the efficiency and lifespan of the system.

Common materials include carbon steel, stainless steel, and corten steel for the outer shell. In high-temperature applications, refractory linings or ceramic materials may be used for internal protection.

Chimneys are designed based on engineering calculations that account for factors like height, diameter, wind loads, flue gas temperature, and corrosion resistance. They must meet environmental regulations for emissions.
